St. Matthias is a parish of The Anglican Diocese of Edmonton in the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the world-wide Anglican Communion.  Anglicanism is a community of life-long formation around scripture, reason and the wisdom of our traditions.  These help us discern God's call to a Christ-shaped life.

St Matthias' exists to form that Christ-shaped community.  Christ's great commandment to love God and our neighbours (Matthew 22:34-40) informs the way we live our mission of "Following Jesus, Serving People".  Sacred worship, generous giving, daily prayer, fellowship, community outreach... these support and express that mission.

We are all in different places in our individual faith journeys, but Christianity isn't about personal piety.  It is about knowing we need each other, and about how the human family thrives together when we reflect God's grace to each other.  With the self-giving example of Christ at the heart of our fellowship, we encourage each other, growing stronger together in faith than we ever could alone.

The integrity of our "Following Jesus, Serving People" must be shown in how it is really lived.  We seek to Christ's love and Grace to others in God's world.  In the power of God's Holy Spirit, the gift of baptism, we are to serve ALL people - in our various places of work, in our homes, in our communities.  God (love) is the source of all, and the final purpose of all.  In God's economy, no-one is excluded and all are invited to take part in the fullness of life.

You will find people from many walks of life at many different places in their faith journey here... you are welcome to walk with us and explore your faith, too, to ask questions, and to seek God's wisdom with us as we grow to people "Following Jesus, Serving People."
